Andrew M. Malec, Ph.D., a partner and managing director with O’Keefe, has been named to lead the firm’s Intellectual Property (“IP”) Practice Group. The announcement was made by Patrick O’Keefe, founder and CEO.
The IP Practice Group focuses on the quantification of economic damages relating to patent, trademark, and copyright infringement matters, as well as trade secret misappropriation matters. In addition, the group also conducts royalty rate studies to assist in the licensing of intellectual property and provides valuation opinions of intellectual property. Dr. Malec regularly testifies in state and federal courts on a variety of high-level litigious matters and is expert in communicating complicated economic topics.
Dr. Malec is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), an Editorial Board Member for The Value Examiner (trade journal for the NACVA), and is a frequent media commentator on a wide-range of economic topics. He also serves as a faculty member for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Expert Witness Deposition Skills Workshop. He joined O’Keefe in 2012.
