Gordon Brothers, the Boston-based global advisory, restructuring and investment firm, announced that Mackenzie Shea joined the company as associate general counsel.
Ms. Shea will serve as the company’s front-line transactional counsel, managing deal documentation and related matters for Gordon Brothers. She brings more than 10 years of experience in the areas of corporate bankruptcy and restructuring, where she focused almost exclusively on the representation of troubled companies and buyers of distressed businesses.

Ms. Shea is the recipient of numerous accolades. She has been selected multiple times by Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America for her work in bankruptcy and restructuring. In 2012, she had the distinction of being named one of the 40 up-and-coming bankruptcy lawyers in the country by the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Ms. Shea has also been recognized as a “Rising Star” six times by New England Super Lawyers.
Prior to joining Gordon Brothers in October 2016, Ms. Shea was a partner at the global law firm of K&L Gates LLP. She began her career as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel Rosenthal of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts. Ms. Shea received her bachelor’s degree from Assumption College and her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
