Houlihan Lokey recently hired Daniel Beaulne and Michael P. Hedden as Directors in the Dispute Resolution Consulting practice. They are based in Dallas and New York, respectively.
Hedden has extensive expertise in the real estate sector, with more than 30 years of experience in all aspects of market analysis and valuation of real property. He joins Houlihan Lokey from FTI Consulting, where he was a Managing Director and a member of the Real Estate Solutions Group providing valuation, litigation support, and expert testimony services. Prior to FTI, Hedden was a managing director with American Appraisal Associates, providing expert testimony and litigation support for clients as well as prepared valuations for financial reporting purposes.
Beaulne is joining from Duff & Phelps, where he was a Managing Director in the Disputes and Investigations practice. Beaulne also brings strong industry-specific experience to the practice, with particular expertise in the energy (oil and gas, power, trading operations and commodity contracts) and mining sectors. Over the past two decades, he has prepared business valuations, provided expert reports and testimony in commercial litigation cases, and quantified financial damages on a wide range of disputed matters. Prior to Duff, he was a senior manager with EY.
Hedden holds a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Bridgeport and a Master of City and Regional Planning (M.C.R.P.) degree from The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. He is also a member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE) and is a distinguished Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (FRICS).
Beaulne holds a B.Comm. from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder, Chartered Professional Accountant, and Chartered Business Valuator. He is also Certified in Entity and Tangible Valuation (CEIV).
