Date: Jan 26, 2018 @ 07:00 AM

Corporate lawyer Kevin Friedmann has joined the Los Angeles office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder in the firm’s Corporate Practice, which comprises more than 450 lawyers over the firm’s 38 offices.

“Kevin is a dynamic and highly-respected attorney with deep experience in assisting clients on a wide variety of transactions, including complex capital markets matters. In addition to his depth of practice experience, he possesses particular industry expertise with regard to technology companies, bringing a unique skillset to our firm,” said Mark J. Kelson, chair of the law firm’s Los Angeles Corporate Practice. “We are excited to welcome him to our robust California team and to our global Corporate Practice.”

In 2017, Friedmann was a finalist for several M&A Advisor Awards, including: “Materials Deal of the Year,” “Cross Border Deal of the Year ($50MM - $100MM),” “Technology Deal of the Year ($10MM – $50MM),” “Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year ($10MM - $25MM),” and “M&A Deal of the Year ($10MM - $25MM).” He was also a finalist for the publisher’s “Deal of the Year” in 2016. On Jan. 22 he was recognized as one of the “Most Influential Minority Attorneys in Los Angeles” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Friedmann focuses his practice on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions for publicly traded companies. He has wide-ranging experience representing emerging growth technology companies in complex mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance transactions. He counsels public company issuers across the corporate finance field and represents early stage private companies in venture capital financings and going public transactions. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Friedmann was chairman of the Corporate Department of Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp (MSK), a member of MSK's Governing Board and co-chair of its Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

“Greenberg Traurig’s global platform, one team culture and comprehensive service offering attracted me, both because of what these could offer my clients and what I believe I can contribute to the team,” Friedmann said.

Friedmann received his J.D. in 1998 from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law. He received his B.A., with honors, in 1993 from the University of Chicago.
