Bankruptcy filings fell 2.6 percent for the 12-month period ending June 30, 2018, compared with the year ending June 30, 2017, according to statistics released by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. June 2018 annual bankruptcy filings totaled 775,578, compared with 796,037 cases in the year ending June 2017.
According to the latest data there have been 22,245 business bankruptcies in the 12 months ending June 30, a decline over previous years. Chapter 11 filings rose slightly to 7,141, compared to 6,999 for the same period last year.
