BB&T announced it has named Rhonda Roberts as Charlottesville, Va., market president. Roberts is located at 1425 Seminole Trail.
"We are extremely fortunate to have Rhonda move into this critical role," said Ray Barnes, BB&T James River regional president. "Her expertise, knowledge and proven track record will continue the success and momentum in this area."
Roberts has more than 20 years banking experience and joined BB&T in 2011 as a compliance officer. She received her bachelor's degree in political science from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is an active volunteer for Samaritan First Disaster Relief and has served as a local soccer coach for three years.
"I am truly excited about this new challenge and the opportunity to work with our exceptional team and clients," Roberts said. "It's our responsibility to be a good corporate citizen, and I look forward to becoming actively involved in the community at large."
Prior to being named market president, Roberts was a business services office in Charlottesville. BB&T operates approximately 300 financial centers in Virginia and divides its footprint into community bank regions – each with its own president – to keep decisions local and close to the customer.
