Conway MacKenzie Names Musso Senior Managing Director in String of Promotions

Advisory firm Conway MacKenzie promoted five individuals, including Mike Musso to the role of Senior Managing Director in Atlanta, and Jamie Chronister to Managing Director in Dallas. 

Musso is a senior operations, turnaround and restructuring executive with 30 years of experience in leading and rebuilding underperforming companies as Chief Executive Officer, Financial Advisor and Chief Restructuring Officer. He is Conway MacKenzie's Consumer Products Practice Leader. He has a “blue chip” consumer products foundation having served in various leadership roles of increasing scope at Procter & Gamble, Pepsi Cola and Frito-Lay.

Musso previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Summit Industries, a 90-year old consumer products manufacturer and distributor based in Atlanta, GA. Musso assembled a world-class team, successfully rebuilding every aspect of the company from brand equity to a complete overhaul of operations. Under his leadership, he positioned the company as an innovation leader resulting in transactions that delivered significant shareholder value.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Musso has been a presenter at the UT MBA Executive in Residence program and currently serves as a presenting member of the Consumer Packaged Goods “Boot Camp” for MBA students. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association, and CFA Institute. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Cosmetic Specialties.

Chronister specializes in providing business, financial, operational management, and bankruptcy advisory services across industries including upstream energy, oilfield services, manufacturing and other industrial services.

In addition to out-of-court restructuring advisory, over the past 20 years Chronister has advised numerous Chapter 11 debtors in connection with the case administration process, including pre-bankruptcy preparation and claims management, preparation of Monthly Operating Reports (MORs) and preparation of the Schedules of Assets and Liabilities (SOALs) and Statements of Financial Affairs (SOFAs). Chronister also brings a great depth of experience with vendor management issues as well as managing the preparation of 13-week cash flow projections and working capital analysis. Chronister is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA/CFF, Texas) and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Dallas/Fort Worth TMA.

Separately the company promoted three individuals in its Detroit office.

Bryant Morrison has been promoted to Director. Morrison is a professional in Conway MacKenzie’s Transaction Services department, specializing in providing merger and acquisition consulting services to a multitude of organizations including private equity investors, strategic lenders, and various other capital providers as well as multi-national corporations, privately-held and middle-market companies. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Supply Chain Professional and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).

Michael DeFrancis has been promoted to Senior Associate. DeFrancis specializes in providing turnaround and crisis management, bankruptcy, and financial advisory services to performing and underperforming businesses. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).

Conor Flynn has been promoted to Senior Associate. Flynn provides transaction advisory services to a multitude of organizations including private equity investors, strategic lenders, and various other capital providers as well as multi-national corporations, privately-held and middle-market companies. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
