Capital One announced that it recently appointed Jeff Goldsmith to its Underwriting and Portfolio Management team. Goldsmith will lead the Credit Solutions group and report directly to John Crosby, Capital One Commercial Banking’s Head of Underwriting and Portfolio Management.
“I was looking for a collaborative leader with a balance of business, technology, and product understanding, as well as a forward lean to help us drive and implement change,” Crosby said. “I’m confident that we have found that leader in Jeff.” Goldsmith is charged with transforming and reimagining Capital One’s end-to-end credit experience. At the same time, he will manage data and process standards and provide horizontal risk and regulatory support.
Prior to joining Capital One, Goldsmith spent eight years at J.P. Morgan Chase, most recently as managing director and head of wholesale banking credit transformation. In that role, he was responsible for redesigning credit risk operating models across the business, including its commercial bank. Previously, he led Strategy and Process Improvement for J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Bank. Goldsmith began his career as a consultant. With both the Boston Consulting Group and First Manhattan Consulting Group, he focused on strategic planning and process reengineering for financial services clients. In those roles, he led engagements for Fortune 100 companies across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, India, and Australia.
