Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced the appointment of David Wong as Managing Director in the Private Equity Services Group in Boston. Mr. Wong will lead the Software Product & Technology Diligence service offering for A&M’s Private Equity Services, further expanding and diversifying the group’s existing Information Technology Due Diligence practice.
Mr. Wong has over 25 years of experience with private equity, diligence and transaction exposure. He has worked with a wide range of organizations, from startups to mid-market to Fortune 50 companies, in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. As lead of Private Equity Services’ Software Product & Technology Diligence offering, Mr. Wong’s extensive experience will enhance A&M’s due diligence offering and ability to address private equity clients’ growing software and technology issues as part of a greater emphasis on operational due diligence.
Mr. Wong will also assist with performance improvement at software and technology companies, as well as merger integrations and carve-outs.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Wong was a Managing Director with Bulger Partners. There, he co-founded and co-managed the strategy consulting practice, providing technology and commercial due diligence services and value creation services for software and tech-enabled business services transactions and portfolio companies. Mr. Wong also served as an executive with IBM, holding various consulting, marketing and emerging business innovation leadership roles. Earlier in his career, he held positions at A.T. Kearney, Gemini Consulting and Marakon Associates.
Mr. Wong earned his master’s degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with First Class Honors, from Queen’s University at Kingston.
