This year’s Asset-Based Capital Conference, March 9-11, is designed to attract newcomers to capital markets as well as seasoned professionals, with a first-ever “boot camp” kicking off the event and special company pricing to encourage unlimited participation across the business, said Richard Gumbrecht, CEO of the Secured Finance Network (SFNet). SFNet was formerly the Commercial Finance Association.

“Market participants from asset-based lenders, independent finance companies, investment banks and private debt, or any service providers engaged in middle market leveraged lending will find the conference relevant to their work,” said Conference Chair Barry Bobrow, managing director and head of loan sales and syndications for Wells Fargo Capital Finance.

The 2021 conference will be held via SFNet Connect, the live online platform praised for its friendly format, interactive features, and networking capabilities since its debut at the SFNet 2020 Annual Convention. The conference will include:

  • A Capital Markets Boot Camp March 8, where first-time attendees and other participants can learn about where asset-based lending fits in the capital markets ecosystem.
  • 26 sessions covering the economic and political outlook, mergers and acquisitions, bankruptcies and restructurings, private equity, the retail sector, asset-based lending and M&As in Europe, diversity in funding, COVID-19 updates, and other topics. New this year: Executive insights from private equity professionals and notable borrowers who have utilized asset-based loans as part of their broader capital structures.
  • Keynote presentations by Kevyn Orr, partner-in-charge at Jones Day; Robert Buonanno, managing director of capital markets for Warburg Pincus; Randy Schwimmer, senior managing director of Churchill Asset Management; and the world renowned professionals at National Jewish Health, who will provide a special update on COVID-19.
  • Options to earn up to 17 continuing professional education (CPE) credits and possible continuing legal education (CLE) credits as well.
  • Exhibitor, sponsorship, networking, and deal making opportunities.
