MONTICELLOAM Appoints Shine as New Chief Restructuring Officer to Amplify Loan Origination

Date: Jun 04, 2021 @ 07:59 AM

MONTICELLOAM announced that William E. Shine has been appointed as Chief Restructuring Officer.

Having retired from Synovus in 2020, he now joins Monticello to continue to work with the senior housing industry. In total, Mr. Shine possesses more than 35 years of commercial banking and healthcare lending experience. Shine’s industry expertise is widely recognized, and his skill set will be invaluable to Monticello’s work in the origination and underwriting space.

“We are thrilled to add Bill Shine to the Monticello team. His years of experience and dedication to the industry will be a great add to the team,” said Alan Litt, Co-Founder and Principal of Monticello.

Sharing his thoughts on becoming a part of Monticello, Shine commented, “The two critical rules for work are ‘be challenged to grow’ and ‘you will be measured by who you choose to work with’. I am pleased to have the opportunity to assist quality senior housing operators and owners to source capital in the aftermath of COVID-19’s impact. I am honored to work with the lenders and managers at MONTICELLOAM and hope to bring value to this experienced team.”

Shine brings over 35 years as a lender and manager in the Seniors Housing industry. Mr. Shine will be responsible for business development and growing the company’s originations and sourcing networks. Prior to joining MONTICELLOAM, LLC, Mr. Shine led various lending groups at a number of financial institutions, initially at SouthTrust Bank, continuing at Capmark Bank (formerly GMAC Commercial Mortgage) and finishing at Synovus Bank. At each institution, the lending group had a significant national presence providing construction and interim term debt as principal. During his span, Mr. Shine spearheaded the lending programs’ various offerings, including direct lending, CMBS and other risk-management financial instruments to ensure that a consistent lending commitment was sustained over the 35-year period.  Mr. Shine is a founding Board Member of the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry.  He also served as Chairman for the NIC Conference in 1996 and 1997.  Mr. Shine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University.
