CohnReznick announced that after several years in industry John Macrae has rejoined the firm as Managing Director as the firm continues to expand the talent and resources of its Restructuring and Dispute Resolution practice. Based in New Jersey, Macrae has twenty-five years of experience in executive management and management consultancy with a focus on leading and transforming growth-oriented businesses across multiple industries.
Macrae brings extensive leadership skills in financial planning and analysis, business strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. As a versatile and strategic finance and operations professional, he uses data-informed decision-making to optimize business processes. Macrae has successfully helped businesses align people, processes, information, controls, and technology to improve effectiveness and efficiency, boost cash flow and profitability, and increase value. His industry experience includes manufacturing and distribution, consumer, financial services, engineering and professional services, construction, and not-for-profit.
Before joining CohnReznick, Macrae was the chief financial officer and chief operating officer for the largest beer wholesaler in New Jersey. In this role, he led a third-generation family business through a transformation to become a more data-driven organization focused on continuous improvement. Utilizing Lean methodology, he helped cross- functional teams build a finance and operations platform that leveraged technology to boost capacity and support sustainable, profitable growth.

Macrae earned a BS in Marketing and an MBA in Finance from Monmouth College. He is a certified Lean Sensei and a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
