Alvarez & Marsal Appoints Waldrop as Managing Director in Corporate Performance Improvement Practice

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced the appointment of Atlanta-based Kirk Waldrop as a Managing Director within its Corporate Performance Improvement practice. Waldrop’s extensive supply chain services and corporate transformation experience underscores A&M’s commitment to helping clients across multiple industries develop and execute operational strategies for maximizing value.  
 
Waldrop advises clients ranging from private equity operating partners and their portfolio companies to Federal Government agencies such as the US Department of Defense (DOD), the US Coast Guard, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Additionally, he has also worked with consumer-packaged goods, health and beauty, and food and beverage companies.
 
Waldrop focuses on supply chain and logistics operations, greenfield and consolidated facility design, omni-channel strategy and improvement, product lifecycle management and make vs buy strategy. He also advises on procure-to-pay and order-to-cash business cycles, cost-to-serve improvement, customer and supplier segmentation strategy, supply chain risk management, and supply chain technology sourcing and implementation matters.
 
Waldrop’s deep knowledge of supply chain strategy and transformation, forward and reverse logistics, manufacturing and warehousing operations, field service operations, last mile delivery operations and third-party logistics (3PL) sourcing and implementation, alongside his post-M&A integration and value creation experience, will benefit clients seeking to drive change.
 
Waldrop’s most recent engagements include:

  • Network strategy and regional consolidated facility design project for a multibillion-dollar electrical supply company;
  • Distribution network consolidation and transformation project for a multibillion-dollar consumer goods retailer;
  • Third-party logistics selection and implementation project for a $500+ million cosmetics company, and;
  • Multi-region network design, facility design and direct-to-store delivery operations improvement project for a multibillion-dollar food and beverage company.

Prior to joining A&M, Waldrop served as a Managing Director with Grant Thornton, LLP specializing in supply chain transformation. Previously, he worked with Chainalytics, LLC and Booz Allen Hamilton.
 
Waldrop earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA and a master’s degree in logistics and transportation from the University of Maryland. He is American Society of Transportation and Logistics (ASTL) certified in transportation, logistics and warehouse design from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
