Harris Williams, a global investment bank specializing in M&A and private capital advisory services, announced that Sam Hendler is rejoining the firm as a managing director focusing on healthcare IT, based in the Boston office. Hendler was previously with Harris Williams from 2005 to 2022 and was promoted through the ranks to managing director. He most recently was managing director of business development in the healthcare vertical at Thomas H. Lee Partners.

Hendler has experience across a broad range of healthcare IT sectors, including provider and payer workflow and data solutions, revenue cycle management, pharma/life sciences technology and tech-enabled services, employer health technology, and value-based care enablement solutions.

“Sam embodies the unwavering client dedication, collaborative mindset, and execution excellence that set our firm apart,” said Bob Baltimore and John Neuner, co-CEOs of Harris Williams. “A product of our organic talent model, Sam spent nearly two decades with the firm and was instrumental in building and developing key relationships across several industry verticals. We are thrilled that Sam is returning to Harris Williams, where our people are our most valuable asset, and we are confident he will make an immediate positive impact both within the firm and with our clients.”

Cheairs Porter, managing director and co-head of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Group at Harris Williams, said, “Healthcare IT has become an increasingly active and important sector, as hospitals and health systems operate in a more complex financial, operational, and regulatory landscape. Sam’s deep expertise across a broad range of healthcare IT verticals enables him to make valuable contributions to our corporate and financial sponsor clients as they seek to capitalize on attractive opportunities in the space.”

“I have had the pleasure of working alongside Sam on many client engagements over the years and am confident that his background makes him ideally positioned to continue building out our firm’s healthcare IT practice. Sam is trusted by his clients, respected by his colleagues, and committed to achieving excellent results, and I am delighted he is rejoining Harris Williams,” added Geoff Smith, managing director and co-head of the Healthcare & Life Sciences Group at Harris Williams.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to return to Harris Williams, where I spent 17 years helping to build the technology and healthcare IT practices. Harris Williams is a unique place, with a well-deserved reputation for providing world-class insight and achieving exceptional client outcomes. The quality of individuals throughout the firm is unmatched, and I am eager to hit the ground running alongside colleagues old and new,” said Mr. Hendler.

Hendler graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in politics from Princeton University and earned an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
