Alvarez & Marsal appointed Nate Brewer as a Managing Director with the firm’s Public Sector Servicesgroup and Federal practice. Brewer’s joining expands A&M’s federal sector capabilities, further empowers the firm to help government clients address their toughest challenges and reaffirms its commitment to best meet the market’s underserved needs.
Drawing on more than a quarter century of consulting and leadership experience in the public and private sectors, Brewer’s expertise aligns with the Federal practice’s mission to develop and implement comprehensive operational and technological solutions for the federal market. He focuses on helping federal, state and local level government clients achieve business process improvements and optimize vendor strategy engagements. Specializing in business transformation, technology and strategy, Brewer advises organizations on large-scale reorganizations, developing future state operating models, deploying innovation and driving sustained organization-wide change initiatives.
Andreas Lucido, leader of A&M’s Federal practice, stated: “A&M’s focus on outcomes and results, as opposed to activity progression, serves to solve for the complexities facing numerous government clients. A&M stands ready to take-on the Federal government’s toughest challenges. Whether it's related to Navy Shipbuilding, Department of Defense (DoD) PPBE Reform or agency-wide digital transformations, our newly established Federal practice brings clients leadership, action and results. Nate’s appointment highlights our firm’s commitment to senior talent investments, operational excellence and a team that continuously bolster our solution offerings in support of maximizing value and mission outcomes for our clients.”
Brewer commented on his new role, “A&M’s federal practice is recognized for its expertise across defense and security, public service and healthcare resilience, along with its ability to help clients navigate a maze of challenges against the backdrop of economic and technological change. Issues such as M&A-driven consolidation, vendor fatigue and the need to integrate commercial solutions into government operations often hold hidden opportunities for driving value if one knows where look. A&M knows where to look.”
Prior to joining A&M, Brewer served nearly seven years with McKinsey & Company, most recently as a Partner in their Digital and Public Sector practices. During his tenure at that firm, he led numerous technology strategy and digital transformation engagements across the public sector. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brewer held leadership roles at Sapient (now Publicis Sapient), where he was instrumental in developing and growing the Public and Social Sector practices.
Brewer earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Vanderbilt University, a master’s degree in engineering and technology management from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. He is a certified Project Management Professional® and a Certified Professional Co-active Coach.
