Jenar will also serve as Senior Group Head of Citi Commercial Bank’s recently-formed Technology Banking Group to enhance lending to middle-market tech businesses seeking the full range of banking services on a global scale.
Jenar brings more than 20 years of commercial and international banking experience including regional business management, credit underwriting, cross-border lending, FX and technical trade product sales. He joined Citi Commercial Bank in May 2012. Citi Commercial Bank has long served technology-oriented companies, and it has built the dedicated Technology Banking Group to address the increasingly specialized and global needs of growing tech companies. The Technology Group, which is built to serve technology companies throughout the U.S., also has a presence in Boston and continues to grow. The team of 12 technology bankers will bring industry-specific expertise and Citi’s unparalleled global banking capabilities to tech firms with revenues of $20 million to $1 billion. Even during the build-out period in 2013, the Technology Group had immediate success providing credit, global cash management services and capital markets solutions to early and late stage companies whether private, pre-IPO, or public across a wide range of subsectors that includes telecommunication, hardware, software, media, Internet, e-commerce, semiconductors and life-sciences.
“I am passionate about Silicon Valley, its communities and its worldwide impact on innovation. I am proud to represent Citibank in this area,” said Jenar. “I’m also thrilled to lead Citi Commercial Bank’s new Technology Banking Group. Tech companies often require specialized access to capital, global production and distribution opportunities, and advanced investment banking services. With the combination of Citi’s global banking capacity and our team’s industry-specific expertise, we are extremely well-positioned to serve the needs of technology clients.”
