Burns & Levinson Announces Expansion of Energy/Cleantech Practice

Boston-based law firm Burns & Levinson LLP welcomes partner Richard A. Kanoff as leader of the firm's Energy/Cleantech practice, and announces an expansion of the firm's resources to meet the constantly evolving needs of clients in the energy space. Kanoff's extensive experience deepens the firm's expertise in energy, renewable energy, and energy finance. He was previously co-chair of the Energy practice at a prominent regional firm, and in-house counsel to a well known energy company.

With his ability to guide energy stakeholders and innovators through new opportunities related to technological advancements and regulatory change, Kanoff is experienced in renewable energy and clean technology law, regulatory policy and litigation including permitting, siting, finance, regulatory compliance, and project development and transaction matters. He has extensive experience representing both public and private companies, and has advised countless emerging and established companies on energy and transactional matters, including clean coal and other fossil fuel]related generation, bio-fuels, biomass, energy and demand management, smart grid, solar, wind, storage, fuel cells and other distributed generation technologies. He has routinely assisted clients in proceedings before numerous state and federal regulatory agencies including the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
