Date: Aug 15, 2014 @ 07:16 AM

Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a provider of legal services to technology, life sciences, and growth enterprises worldwide, announced that Benjamin Hoch has become a partner at the firm. Formerly the chair of Covington & Burling's bankruptcy and corporate restructuring practice, Hoch will be based in Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati's New York office.

"Ben is a creative, energetic, and strategic problem-solver, and we are proud to welcome him to the firm," said Doug Clark, co-managing partner. "His extensive restructuring and reorganization experience will be a valuable asset to many of our clients in a wide array of industries and across a broad range of finance-related matters. In particular, he will be a boon to our energy and infrastructure finance practice, in which we have invested significantly in the past year in response to the needs of our clients."

In the course of his practice, Hoch advises clients on the entire spectrum of corporate finance and financial restructuring matters, including counseling boards of directors with respect to fiduciary duties, transactional assignments for investors on "loan to own" strategies, debt purchases, and strategic review of complex capital structures and subordination agreements. He also advises clients regarding inter-creditor disputes, mergers and acquisitions and other transactional and advisory work involving distressed assets and businesses, general corporate finance, and structured finance across a variety of asset-based products and derivatives. His experience spans a broad array of industries, including technology, energy, electric utility, Internet, construction, manufacturing, retail, insurance, transportation, aerospace, real estate, lodging, and entertainment.

Prior to his eight-year tenure as partner at Covington & Burling, Hoch began his legal career in 1988 at Dewey Ballantine, where he was elected a partner in 1996. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1988 and a B.S. in accounting from Brooklyn College in 1985.

For more than 50 years, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati has offered a broad range of services and legal disciplines focused on serving the principal challenges faced by the management and boards of directors of business enterprises.
