AlixPartners, the global business-advisory firm, announced that Fernando Oliveros has joined the firm's Enterprise Improvement group as a managing director. Oliveros brings deep international experience in the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) industries, as well as expertise in the energy sector, especially in renewable energies. He also has a strong background in mergers and acquisitions and in working with private equity firms. Oliveros will be based in Dubai.

Oliveros joins AlixPartners from Ooredoo Algeria, a division of the international telecommunications company Ooredoo QSC, where he was responsible for the company's 3G network launch. As a director at Ooredoo Algeria, Oliveros reported directly to the CEO.

Earlier in his career, Oliveros was a partner at Oliver Wyman, a consulting firm located in Madrid and Dubai, where he served TMT and energy clients across Europe and the Middle East. Oliveros had also previously acted as interim CEO in the turnaround of a wind turbine manufacturing company, with operations spread across India and Finland and a headcount of more than 700.

Prior to that, Oliveros was a partner at consultancy Diamond Cluster (later acquired by Oliver Wyman), where he focused on the TMT and energy sectors.

Oliveros's career launched at Mitchell Madison Group, Bain & Co. and Gemini Consulting. He also brings entrepreneurial experience from Cirta Emissions, a R &D technology company in Spain, and Tecverge, a technology integration company that he co-founded in India.
