AlixPartners, the global advisory firm, announced that Sanjay Ramaswamy has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Co-Head of the firm's Life Sciences Practice, where he will focus on serving clients in the pharmaceutical, medical-device and biotech sectors among other areas. He will be based in AlixPartners' New York office.
Ramaswamy's background includes extensive experience in performance and operational transformation and technology implementation, and he brings deep experience in leading and implementing global operations and analytics systems.

Prior to joining AlixPartners, Ramaswamy was a global vice president of enterprise business systems and analytics at Johnson & Johnson and before that, vice president and global CIO, supply chain. While at Johnson & Johnson, he led a global strategic program to simplify and standardize core transactional processes, data, and systems; one of several initiatives aimed at delivering billions in savings.
Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Ramaswamy was a partner at McKinsey & Company in Chicago and New Jersey. There, he led several large-scale performance improvement engagements in the retail and pharmaceutical industries.
Ramaswamy holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from the College of Engineering in Guindy in Chennai, India, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Pennsylvania State University, in State College, PA.
