SSG Capital Advisors announced the addition of four investment banking professionals to their team, adding to the firm’s capabilities and capacity, and supporting the growth of its platform.

Matthew Arden, Associate

Most recently, Arden was Senior Associate with Graham Partners Operating Company, where he was responsible for portfolio management, as well as supporting post-acquisition strategic initiatives, divestitures and fund valuations. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and earned a bachelor’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University.

Brian Martin, Associate

Most recently, Martin was Vice President in the Valuation Advisory Services practice of Duff & Phelps, where he advised clients on business, equity and debt valuations; intellectual property and intangible asset valuations; purchase price allocations; and impairment testing for a variety of financial reporting and tax purposes. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and earned dual bachelor’s degrees from the Pennsylvania State University.

Brett E. Kravitt, Analyst

Most recently, Kravitt was a member of Ernst & Young, LLP’s Business Advisory practice, where he provided performance improvement and risk management services to financial service institutions. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland.

Brian A. McAuley, Analyst

Most recently, McAuley was an analyst on the Fund Investment Team at Hamilton Lane, where he evaluated various private equity funds for investment opportunities across all strategies, including buyout, growth equity, venture capital and special situations funds. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and earned a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh University.

The four will be responsible for creating valuation models, performing financial analyses, conducting market and buyer research and preparing transaction progress reports. They will work closely with SSG senior investment bankers advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, private placements, financial restructuring and valuation engagements. They will be based in the firm’s West Conshohocken, PA headquarters.

SSG received the Chapter 11 Restructuring Deal of the Year award for their role in the Cooper-Booth Wholesale Company, Cooper-Booth Transportation Company and Cooper-Booth Management Company transaction at the Global M&A Turnaround Atlas Awards.  The award was presented on June 23, 2015.

J. Scott Victor has been named as one of Global M&A Network’s Top 100 Restructuring & Turnaround Professionals - Investment Banker. Inclusion in the list is an acknowledgement of firm-wide team expertise, unique capabilities and the firm’s reputation for consistently advising on restructuring transactions and assignments to develop value-creating outcomes.

Teresa C. Kohl, Director, was elected to her first term as a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s (ABI) Board of Directors. Kohl will serve a term of three years on the 60-member board of directors.

Neil Gupta, Vice President, was elected to his first term as a member of the Turnaround Management Association’s Philadelphia Chapter Board of Directors.  Gupta will serve a term of three years on the 29-member board of directors.
