The 2016 edition of Best Law Firms marks the fifth consecutive year global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP received the most overall first-tier rankings and the most first-tier metropolitan rankings in the report published by U.S. News – Best Lawyers. The firm was also recognized as “Law Firm of the Year” for Environmental Law.
According to U.S. News – Best Lawyers, firms included in the 2016 “Best Law Firms” are recognized for “professional excellence and persistently receive high ratings from clients and peers. Receiving tier rankings shows a unique combination of quality law practice and breadth of legal expertise.”
In 2016, U.S News – Best Lawyers reported receiving 700,000 law firm assessments from more than 21,000 attorneys and received more than 47,000 evaluations from over 8,000 clients. According to the U.S. News- Best Lawyers press release, the 2016 rankings are based on the highest number of participating firms and highest number of client ballots on record. To be eligible for a ranking, a firm must have a lawyer listed in The Best Lawyers in America, which recognizes the top 4 percent of practicing attorneys in the United States.
Greenberg Traurig received “Law Firm of the Year” designation for its Environmental Practice as a result of “an impressive overall performance” in the evaluation process. According to U.S. News – Best Lawyers, one “Law Firm of the Year” is named in 74 of the nationally ranked practice areas.
Additionally, Greenberg Traurig has more attorneys included in the related Best Lawyers in America guide than any other law firm listed.
