Fortune magazine named U.S. Bancorp the most admired superregional bank today, the sixth consecutive year that it has topped the list.
“Integrity and ethics are fundamental to how we do business," said Richard Davis, chairman and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp. "This recognition as Fortune's most admired superregional bank confirms we are doing the right thing for our customers, shareholders, employees and communities.”
In the superregional banks category, U.S. Bancorp ranked first in five of the nine industry key attributes of reputation: People Management, Use of Corporate Assets, Quality of Management, Financial Soundness and Long-Term Investment.
The bank was also highlighted in Fortune’s accompanying story, “How the World’s Most Admired Companies Are Preparing for the Future,” as being no. 5 among companies in all industries for Quality of Management.
Fortune’s lists are determined by a survey of executives, directors and analysts rating companies in their industry on a series of criteria.
