Alvarez & Marsal Expands Disputes & Investigations Practice

June 28, 2017, 08:00 AM

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has announced that business development leader Candus Hinderer has joined the firm’s Disputes and Investigations practice. Based in Houston, she will serve as Senior Director and head the practice’s global relationship development program, leading strategic initiatives around business development, account management and go-to-market programs.

Hinderer is a certified public accountant (CPA) who brings more than 20 years of experience in professional services and corporate environments. Her background includes serving in corporate finance leadership roles as well as leading sales teams and driving executive-level relationship development.

“The addition of Candus signifies the growing demand for the high-level disputes and investigations capabilities we’ve offered clients since the practice’s inception,” said Bryan Ruez, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations. “Whether it’s cyber risk services, applied data analytics, forensic analyses or investigations related to fraud, compliance or anti-money laundering issues, organizations increasingly require experienced counsel on integrated approaches for safeguarding their lines of business and brand reputations.”

Prior to joining A&M, Hinderer was a partner with a boutique accounting and compliance consulting firm, where she was responsible for leading and managing business development, operations and consulting functions. She also brings deep technical accounting expertise gained during her tenures as a Finance Manager with Shell Trading Gas & Power, Financial Reporting Director for Grey Wolf Drilling and as an audit senior with Deloitte.

Hinderer earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, summa cum laude, from Texas State University. She is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs as well as the Women's Energy Network.
