Perkins Coie Appoints M&A Vet Partner in Corporate Practice

Perkins Coie announced that Christopher J. Hagan has joined the firm’s Corporate practice as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office with a focus on private equity matters and mergers and acquisitions.

“Chris is a noteworthy inclusion to the firm’s nationally recognized mergers and acquisitions practice because of his exceptional track record working with private equity sponsors,” said Nate Ford, Chair of Perkins Coie’s Private Equity practice. “Chris’s high-level of deal activity includes cross-border transactions across a range of industries including the business services, healthcare, energy, technology and manufacturing sectors. We are delighted to welcome him to the firm.”

Hagan has more than 25 years of experience in the private equity space, where he leads and advises on private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions, growth equity financings and management incentive structuring, as well as and general corporate law. He focuses on representing middle and lower middle market private equity funds and their portfolio companies in buyout transactions, add-on acquisitions, divestitures and general corporate matters. Hagan also represents private equity investment funds, hedge funds, family offices, fundless sponsors, management teams and institutional investors. He has worked with nearly 100 fund portfolio companies serving outside general counsel and guiding them in corporate governance, M&A, divestitures, equity and debt financings, restructurings, stockholder agreements, LLC agreements, commercial contracts, venture capital financings, executive compensation and employment arrangements, joint ventures and recapitalizations. Hagan earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Albion College. Before joining Perkins Coie, Chris was a partner with Brown Rudnick.

In addition, the firm has a substantial practice dedicated to structuring and forming private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds and real estate funds, and advising fund sponsors in connection with formations.
