The Freedom Bank of Virginia (FDVA) announced that it has hired Bradley S. Crockett as Head of the Commercial Real Estate Group. Crockett will be responsible for all facets of commercial banking for commercial real estate clients.

“We are very fortunate to have a professional with Brad’s thirty years of experience in commercial and residential real estate lending, real estate development and portfolio management, and he is uniquely qualified to oversee the development of strategies to best serve real estate clients,” said Joe Thomas, President and CEO. “Brad will elevate Freedom Bank’s brand in the real estate industry and drive the profitability and growth of our real estate business,” added Thomas.

Crockett will oversee the Commercial Real Estate industry group and be responsible for advisory, lending, treasury services, financial services, and mortgage. This will result in the retention and expansion of existing client relationships, growth of total client assets, and net growth in relationships. “Freedom Bank has a huge opportunity to fill a niche with high-quality real estate developers, property owners, and professional investors across the Northern Virginia market where I have lived and worked for over thirty years” said Crockett.

Crockett is a native of Northern Virginia and has worked in the market his entire career. Most recently, Mr. Crockett was Chief Credit Officer and SVP Real Estate Credit Officer at Presidential Bank. Prior to that, Crockett was Vice President and head of business development at Waterford Development.

He also formerly served as SVP and Team Leader of the Real Estate Lending Groups in Northern Virginia for SunTrust Bank as well as VP of Commercial Real Estate at Wachovia Bank in Northern Virginia. Crockett has a Masters in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a BA from James Madison University.
