November 22, 2019, 09:00 AM

Frazier & Deeter announced today the expansion of the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services Group with the addition of three new team members.

Brian Dermott has joined the firm as a Principal, Chase Gund as a Manager and Joseph Barron as a Senior Associate. Brian, Chase and Joseph, all licensed CPAs, will expand the Transaction Advisory Group based in Charlotte, which focuses on serving private equity groups, corporate strategic buyers, mezzanine lenders and other investors.

“The demand for Frazier & Deeter’s transaction advisory services has never been stronger, driving the need to expand the team,” noted Seth McDaniel, National Managing Partner of Frazier & Deeter. “As one of the leading firms serving the Middle Market, we’re seeing increased demand for both buy-side and sell-side transaction support.”

Frazier & Deeter’s experienced transaction professionals possess a unique blend of both public accounting and CFO experience, which provide impactful insights to clients as they navigate the complexities of transactions.

“The addition of a Principal with Brian’s experience as both a CFO and a transaction advisor, as well as another manager and senior associate, adds talent and capacity needed to serve merger and acquisition clients,” noted Tim Koch, national leader of the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services practice.

Dermott was most recently Chief Financial Officer of FM Expressions, a private equity owned manufacturer. Before FM Expressions, Dermott was a transaction advisory professional, performing financial due diligence engagements on behalf of private equity and strategic buyers to identify and mitigate deal risk. Dermott received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and his Masters in Accounting from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.

“Serving as a CFO in a dynamic private equity setting has provided me with a broader perspective, which I look forward to incorporating into our client service approach,” noted Dermott. “I am thrilled to join one of the fastest-growing accounting and advisory firms in the country, and continue expanding the firm’s strategic focus on serving private equity groups.”

Gund joined the firm from DayBlink, a management consulting firm, where he advised clients regarding a variety of finance-related activities. He was previously a member of Frazier & Deeter’s Audit Practice for five years and served in the U.S. Navy for five years. Gund received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Barron joined the firm from Emerson Electric, where he was a Financial Analyst. Prior to Emerson, he was with Grant Thornton, where he served in Audit and Transaction Services. Barron is a graduate of Winona State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Accounting.
