Angelo Gordon announced that Allison Binns, former Executive Director for Global Sustainability Research at Morgan Stanley, has joined the firm as Head of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Investing Strategies. In this new role, Ms. Binns will lead and drive a best-in-class, strategic approach to ESG integration and opportunity across Angelo Gordon’s global platform. Ms. Binns will report to Josh Baumgarten and Adam Schwartz, Angelo Gordon’s co-Chief Executive Officers.

Schwartz said: “ESG is a critical component of the investment process, and we are excited to welcome Allison on board to accelerate our current efforts in this area. We are confident that Allison’s experience, market knowledge and industry relationships make her the ideal partner for our investment teams as we expand ESG integration across our investing strategies.”

Baumgarten added: “Allison is a deeply experienced leader in ESG in the investment industry and we are thrilled to have her spearheading our strategic approach, not only ensuring our ESG integration efforts meet global best practice standards but identifying ways in which ESG can factor into new opportunities that will deliver even more value for our clients.”

In addition to the appointment of Ms. Binns, Angelo Gordon has become a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), demonstrating the firm’s ongoing commitment to implementing ESG across its platform. The firm has been a member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Alliance since 2019.
