April 07, 2017, 08:05 AM

Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has expanded its supply chain management capabilities in the energy sector with the hire of Jeffrey T. Relf, who joins the firm’s Corporate Performance Improvement practice in Houston as a Managing Director.

Recognized for his real-time pipeline control systems expertise, Relf brings more than 30 years of experience advising on supply chain management issues and challenges. He counsels organizations seeking to operate profitably in a low oil price environment and works with companies on the planning and execution of liquids and gas pipelines.

Relf specializes in identifying improvement opportunities and designing and implementing cutting-edge supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), power cost analysis, process historian and artificial intelligence (AI) tools. He has led high-performance, global teams that have delivered complex projects across Europe, Russia, China, Australia and the United States.

“The current landscape provides U.S. companies with strong opportunities and incentives to participate in oil and gas expansion in onshore and offshore energy operations. In this environment, trade deals are important now more than ever. Jeff is a seasoned professional with in-depth supply chain knowledge and insights, who has been instrumental in numerous purchasing and contract negotiations. His extensive experience with energy sector supply chain issues will benefit our clients,” said Michael Davidson, a Managing Director in the firm’s Corporate Performance Improvement practice.

Prior to joining A&M, Relf spent seven years with BG Group as a Chief Information Officer (CIO) based in Brisbane, Australia and a supply chain executive based in Houston. Prior to BG Group, Relf spent 23 years with Accenture in various roles where he led strategic transformational change programs for clients across the United States and Russia.

Relf earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of Arizona. He holds a Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS).
