JPMorgan Chase Hires New Head of Middle-Market Banking for Tennessee

June 15, 2017, 07:10 AM

JPMorgan Chase has named veteran banker Jeff Goodwin as Region Manager of Tennessee Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries.

A graduate of Belmont University, Goodwin has 23-years of experience in banking. He started his career in Nashville in 1993 and has specialized in commercial banking for most of his career, working in Louisville, Nashville, Atlanta and Florida. Goodwin currently manages the West Florida commercial sales team for SunTrust and is based in Tampa.

In addition to leading the Middle Market team in Tennessee, Goodwin will serve as a Nashville Market Leader for JPMorgan Chase, working alongside Nashville Market Leader John Morris, who is the head of the J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Tennessee.

“Jeff is a proven leader who works tirelessly for his clients,” said Clarence Nunn, head of Chase Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries in the Southeast. “Tennessee is an important market for Chase, and we are enthusiastic about bringing aboard a leader with Jeff’s experience, intelligence and work ethic.”

The Chase Middle Market group has a statewide presence and works primarily with companies with annual revenue ranging from $20 million to $500 million. Chase provides comprehensive solutions, including lending, treasury services, investment banking and asset management, to meet their domestic and international financial needs.

"My journey from Nashville to Nashville has been a long time in the making. I look forward to getting re-engaged with the community and reconnecting with old friends and colleagues," Goodwin said. "Most of all, I look forward to experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of Tennessee and celebrating the many positive changes that have occurred. I am thrilled to be a part of JPMorgan Chase and to have the opportunity to work with our clients and prospects to keep this progress rolling."

After getting his undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University, Goodwin enrolled at Belmont, where he earned a Master’s in Business Administration-Finance.

“Belmont was a great fit for me and a tipping point in my career,” Goodwin said. “It changed how I think about business and leadership.”

JPMorgan Chase is also working to relocate its Nashville offices to 1201 Demonbreun, with a target move-in of later this year. The space in a new building is larger than the bank’s current quarters and will have new amenities like state-of-the-art technology and a client center large enough to host client events.
