U.S. Bank announced that it has expanded its Commercial Banking office in Charlotte and named veteran banker, Jim Kaspar, senior vice president and relationship manager. Kaspar will join Johnny Perry, senior vice president and relationship manager, who opened the Charlotte office in October 2016. This new group will serve middle-market companies across multiple industries, providing credit, capital market, treasury management, working capital and risk management solutions.
U.S. Bank has built a significant presence in the Charlotte area in recent years and several of its senior executives are based in Charlotte, including Jim Kelligrew, vice chairman and co-head of Wholesale Banking. There are now nearly 700 U.S. Bank employees in the greater Charlotte area, primarily in fixed income, commercial real estate, risk management, corporate trust and corporate banking roles.
“We continue to see significant opportunity to grow our Commercial Banking footprint in key geographic areas like Charlotte, where other U.S. Bank business lines have been successfully established,” said Jim Kelligrew, vice chairman and co-head of Wholesale Banking at U.S. Bank. “This team’s experience and connection to the community will enable us to build long-term, trusted relationships with middle-market clients in the region.”
Kaspar has more than 20 years of industry experience and has been a Charlotte resident since 1998. Prior to joining U.S. Bank, he spent 17 years in banking and capital markets at Wells Fargo. Earlier in his career, Kaspar worked as an interest rate and foreign exchange risk management specialist. Kaspar holds a B.S. from Fairfield University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is active in the community, coaching youth sports, teaching religious education at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church and raising funds for education at Providence Day School as an annual fund team captain.
Perry is a North Carolina native with more than 20 years of banking experience. Prior to opening the Charlotte Commercial Banking office, Perry served as a relationship manager for U.S. Bank in Louisville, KY.
