Amherst Partners announced that Thomas McCabe has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Restructuring Advisory practice. He will be based in the Chicagoland area.

McCabe brings more than 25 years of CFO, COO, and transaction advisory experience across a broad range of industries including restaurant & hospitality, manufacturing & industrial, high-growth technology, healthcare, supply chain, and SaaS businesses.

Prior to joining Amherst Partners, McCabe worked at KPMG Corporate Finance, where he received several awards for his leadership of the large transaction advisory teams. His experience also includes work at Deloitte (formerly CRG Partners), and Forest View Advisory, providing a variety of financial and strategic management services for private equity and venture-backed companies and supporting both buy- and sell-side due diligence and assisting with debt refinancing and capital raise for numerous businesses.

In addition to his work as an independent consultant on restructuring matters for numerous clients, McCabe held senior finance roles with a number of technology firms including Classified Ventures, Axioma, Cars.com, Apartments.com and Savo Group. He also has held senior finance/operational leadership roles at Hendricksen, Crown Golf, Leap Advertising and Baxter Healthcare. McCabe started his career as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago and Philadelphia.

McCabe holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business, a BBA in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
