PwC US has appointed Neil Dhar, Partner, as the US firm’s head of Financial Services. In this role, Dhar will be responsible for overseeing the strategy and leadership of PwC’s US Financial Services practice which includes the Asset & Wealth Management, Banking & Capital Markets, and Insurance sectors.

A seasoned deals consulting professional for over 20 years, Dhar has significant experience leading teams internationally, and advising some of the world’s largest corporates and financial sponsors on transformational transactions such as acquisitions, alliances, divestitures, capital raises (e.g. IPOs, debt) and distress situations. Previously, he served as the firm’s US Deals Capital Markets Leader and held other leadership roles in PwC’s Deals practice.  Dhar succeeds John Stadtler, who led the practice for the past three years and is assuming additional responsibilities with PwC’s most high profile global clients.

“The financial services industry is at a crossroads of dynamic new opportunities and challenges created by the confluence of technology, risk and regulation, changing demographics and innovation in the way firms conduct business.  This is a critical and exciting time for the future of the industry from established mega institutions all the way through to new entrants as they work through strategy and focus on flawless execution,” said Dhar. “I’m truly honored to lead this world class team and remain committed to continuing to invest in our business and capabilities to serve our clients from strategy through value capture.”

Dhar received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, after earning his undergraduate degree in business at Villanova University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for New York Cares, and on the Advisory Council of Villanova School of Business - Finance.
