Global investment bank Houlihan Lokey announced that Victor Barcot has joined the firm as a Managing Director in the Oil & Gas Exploration and Production (E&P) Group. He is based in Houston.
Barcot joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was a Managing Director in the Global Oil & Gas Group, focused on providing capital markets and M&A advisory services for clients in the E&P sector. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he was a Managing Director in HSBC’s Resources and Energy Group, working with E&P clients in the US, Canada, and Latin America. Mr. Barcot also was the Founding Partner of Exxel Energy Group, an independent E&P firm focused on the U.S. Rocky Mountains, and the Founder and CEO of Archer Petroleum, with operations in Western Canada and the Permian Basin. He began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston in 1997.
“Victor has spent his 20-year career focused on the E&P sector, advising major U,S, companies, public and private independents, and national oil companies on a range of domestic and cross-border M&A and capital markets transactions. Victor’s depth of experience is further enhanced by his tenure as an owner of US upstream oil & gas companies, providing a unique perspective and blend of expertise that will doubtless be tremendously beneficial to our E&P client base. I’m delighted that he has joined the team,” said J.P. Hanson, Head of the Oil & Gas E&P Group.
“The opportunity to join an investment bank with the breadth of capabilities of Houlihan Lokey is exciting. Houlihan Lokey has a long history of advising oil and gas clients across all its businesses and is a market leader in corporate finance, M&A, A&D and financial restructuring,” said Mr. Barcot. “I could not be more thrilled to join an E&P banking team with the ability to provide independent, unbiased transaction advice to E&P companies, their Boards and capital providers from the reservoir to the balance sheet with the unmatched foresight, expertise and relationships that Houlihan Lokey possesses,” he continued.
Barcot holds a B.B.A. and an MBA in Finance from the University of Houston, where he graduated with highest honors.
