Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced the addition of Kumu Puri and Tim Jellison to its San Francisco office. Both Puri and Jellison join as Managing Directors with the firm’s Telecommunications, Media & Technology practice. Their extensive and combined experience advising technology companies further advances A&M’s transformation and performance improvement offerings in this sector.

For over two decades, Puri has advised companies on identifying, iterating, structuring and implementing go-to-market and operations strategies that drive growth and shareholder value. She counsels leaders and managers on corporate transformation including digital strategy, customer and sales analytics, new go-to-market strategies, operating model redesign and operational effectiveness.
Prior to joining A&M, Puri was a Managing Director in Accenture’s Strategy practice, focusing on the communications, media and technology industries. She has worked across multiple high-tech sectors, including networking and computing, enterprise software, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and consumer electronics. Puri, a passionate mentor for young women in the consulting industry, also led several Accenture Women Leadership initiatives.
Puri earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a degree in electrical engineering from McGill University.
Throughout his 30-year career, Jellison has worked in the technology, media and telecommunications sectors. He has significant experience advising enterprise software and software-enabled businesses on operational strategy initiatives that create transformational growth and drive shareholder value. Jellison is recognized for his expertise in product introduction and portfolio rationalization, licensing and pricing effectiveness, direct and indirect sales models, channel program design and other go-to-market elements. Additionally, he counsels clients on cloud business models and operational capabilities.
Prior to joining A&M, Jellison was a Director with Altman Vilandrie & Company, a boutique strategy consulting firm that focuses on the technology, media and telecommunications industries. Earlier in his career, Mr. Jellison spent more than 22 years in Accenture’s Management Consulting practice and led the software industry sector. Previously he had also led the West Region Technology, Media & Telecom Strategy practice and the management consulting portfolio for Accenture’s largest tech client.
Jellison earned an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Davis.
