Wells Fargo Capital Finance, part of Wells Fargo & Company, announced that Eric Pietras has been named senior vice president and business development officer for its Government Services Group. The Government Services Group provides industry-specialized financing solutions to businesses that contract with federal, state, and municipal governments. Based in McLean, Virginia, Pietras reports to David Ellis, senior vice president and regional sales manager for the Southeast Region, Government Services Group.
“I am thrilled to have Eric join our team as he brings exceptional industry experience, strong relationships and leadership,” said Greg Wheeless, senior vice president and regional manager of the Government Services Group. “Eric will play a key role in expanding Government Services Group’s ability to serve small, middle market, and large corporate government contractors across the U.S. Additionally, Eric will help the group further strengthen its current working capital financing capabilities to include receivable securitizations, turnaround financing, acquisition financing, and dividend recaps.”
Pietras most recently served as a senior vice president and senior client manager in Bank of America’s Government Contractor Banking Group. In this role, he was responsible for business development and client management of federal aerospace, defense and government services companies, with whom he developed, structured and implemented a variety of debt, equity and non-credit financial solutions. Pietras brings over 30 years of commercial banking experience in the region, most of which has been focused on the federal contracting sector. Throughout his career, he held various team leadership roles at TD Bank and Chevy Chase Bank in the Government Contracting and Technology space.
Pietras earned a B.A. in Economics with honors from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has served as a director on numerous industry related boards and was awarded Dealmaker of the Year in the Capital Provider category at the 2007 Association of Corporate Growth-National Capital Chapter (AGC) Awards.
