BakerHostetler announced that Adam Gale, a seasoned attorney who advises investment funds and managers on a variety of fund formation and compliance matters, will join the firm as a partner and co-leader of the firm’s Investment Funds team. Gale joins the firm from Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., where he was co-leader of its Investment Funds practice.
Gale’s practice focuses on counseling middle-market private investment funds on a wide range of matters, including forming and structuring U.S. and international private investment funds, representing institutional investors in their investments, providing regulatory and compliance counsel to funds and asset managers, advising on initial coin offerings, and advising broker-dealers on the full range of Financial Industry Regulatory Authority rules and market regulation issues.
A former senior counsel at The Bank of New York, Gale also advises clients on U.S. bank and regulatory compliance issues.
The Investment Funds team is a multidisciplinary team of attorneys from across BakerHostetler’s 14 offices that provides private equity, venture capital, hedge fund and real estate manager clients core services such as fund formation, regulatory, securities and litigation counsel. The team provides a unique offering of full-time fund lawyers and other attorneys with a range of regulatory, transactional and litigation experience working as a single unit to provide clients superior service.
“A highly respected fund attorney, Adam is a welcome addition to our firm,” said John Gherlein, chair of the firm’s Business Group. “His deep understanding of the complexities surrounding private investment funds will be extremely beneficial to our clients.”
“Adam is a terrific addition to the firm, and his experience will benefit attorneys not just in New York but across our offices nationwide,” said George Stamboulidis, managing partner of the New York office. “He and co-leader Jessie Gabriel both provide outstanding client service, and I’m excited to see that commitment to the client create a solid foundation for our new industry team’s future success.”
“I’m honored the opportunity to co-lead the Investment Funds team with Jessie and work with the talented attorneys across the legal landscape here at BakerHostetler,” Gale said. “Our fund clients now have a one-stop shop for all their corporate, transactional and litigation needs, no matter the size of the project or scope of industry and legal knowledge they may require.”
Gale received his B.A. from Cornell University and his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
