Haynes and Boone, LLP announced that Giorgio Bovenzi has joined the firm's New York office as a partner in the Finance Practice Group.

Bovenzi has decades of experience advising global financial institutions and corporates on global credit risk management and cross-border insolvency. A native of Italy and veteran of leading Wall Street law firms, Bovenzi has accumulated an extensive knowledge of the commercial and insolvency laws of many jurisdictions worldwide by working closely with a select network of country counsel and reconciling the differences in credit, bank regulatory, and insolvency rules among civil-law and common-law jurisdictions. He has close relationships with some of the world’s largest global banks and assists them in the review of credit and insolvency risks in cross-border transactions.

Bovenzi has also represented global financial institutions, multi-national debtors, and investors in multi-jurisdictional insolvency, out-of-court restructuring, and distressed-asset acquisition matters in which his global credit risk experience proved instrumental.

Innovation in the delivery of legal services has also been an area of focus for Bovenzi. He has been involved in the development and implementation of legal technologies across multiple practices, from novel machine learning and artificial intelligence products to simpler solutions that streamline the delivery of legal services to clients and address pain points in different practice areas.

Bovenzi comes to Haynes and Boone from Dentons, where he was a partner in the firm’s Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice. He also co-chaired Dentons' Financial Institutions Sector and the Innovation & Technology Working Group. After practicing commercial litigation in Italy, he began his U.S. career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP more than 20 years ago, where his bankruptcy litigation experience was highly formative, and later worked for about a decade at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where he helped develop the firm’s global credit risk management expertise into a practice.
