Corporate restructuring and public affairs strategies firm Gavin/Solmonese has expanded its team with the addition of turnaround expert Timothy G. Skillman as a managing director in its Los Angeles office.

With more than 25 years of turnaround, restructuring, performance improvement and change management experience, Skillman joins Gavin/Solmonese from Grant Thornton, LLP, where he was a principal in its corporate advisory and restructuring practice.

Skillman specializes in developing and implementing viable performance improvement strategies for manufacturing, distribution and service companies. His areas of expertise include: process improvement, cash flow improvement; organizational design and employee productivity within the company.Before his career as a turnaround expert, Tim spent 13 years as a commercial banker, where his clients were primarily mid-continent and west coast exploration and production companies.

Skillman earned a bachelor’s degree in Geography and a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance and Marketing from the University of Michigan. He is a Certified Turnaround Professional and is a member of the Board of Advisors of The Receivables Exchange, the Board of Members of Global Energy Innovations and the Board of Advisors of the Minority Business Development Center of the City of Los Angeles. He is a past member of the board of directors of the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals, and past chairman and president of the Michigan Environmental Trust.
