Conway MacKenzie announced that Jabier Arbeloa has joined the firm as a Managing Director for its Latin American practice out of the Miami office.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Mr. Arbeloa's areas of focus include post-merger integration, and multiple debt, mezzanine and equity raising transactions across Latin America, the Caribbean, U.S., and Europe totaling $4 billion in transaction value, a well as acquisition and project financing. He has worked on a number of complex cross-border M&A landmark transactions in several industries, including food and beverages, telecom, financial services, and power. Mr. Arbeloa has also led multiple strategic advisory and valuation engagements.

“Jabier’s extensive background and relationships within the region will be a tremendous asset to our team as we continue our work throughout Latin America,” said Aurelio Garcia-Miro, head of Conway MacKenzie’s Miami / Latin America office, which opened in late-2018 as a crucial location for the burgeoning global marketplace, with particular focus in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.

Most recently, Mr. Arbeloa worked as a Managing Director with Pan American Finance, a Miami-based advisory firm providing investment banking services to clients in Latin America and U.S. markets. Prior to that, he was with PepsiCo as an M&A and business development Director for Latin America; served as corporate finance vice president for Santander Investments; and was a professor of financial modeling and analysis at Monterrey Institute of Technology’s Graduate School of Business.

A graduate of Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela, with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Arbeloa also earned his MBA in finance from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management.
