Alvarez & Marsal (“A&M”) has appointed Wayne Jephson as a London-based Managing Director, to support the continued expansion of its Global Transaction Advisory Group. Mr. Jephson will specialize in providing financial due diligence services with a specific focus on infrastructure investors and private equity transactions. His expertise will complement A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group’s existing capabilities in markets across Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific, while enhancing the firm’s presence in the U.K. With 18 years of experience, his appointment marks a significant milestone in the evolution of A&M’s Infrastructure Investors proposition, which is set to further expand globally in 2020.
Mr. Jephson, who joins from EY where he most recently served as a Director within its Infrastructure Transactions Group, will focus on providing full asset life-cycle advice to infrastructure investors, working with other A&M teams in areas such as valuations, performance improvement and debt advisory.
Throughout his career, he has undertaken in excess of 100 infrastructure transactions across various investment classes from utilities and renewables to transport and telecommunications in the U.K., Europe and Africa.
He will work closely with A&M’s Transaction Advisory Group Managing Directors Paul Aversano, Global Practice Leader and David Evans, the Practice’s European Leader, along with Managing Director Jason Clatworthy, to continue to grow the business in the U.K. regions and in international markets.
Wayne Jephson, Managing Director at A&M commented: “I am pleased to be joining such a dynamic, fast-growing team at this pivotal time for the business. A&M is clearly dedicated to developing a market-leading proposition in serving clients in this attractive and valuable sector.
“Clients are increasingly seeking tax and transaction experts free from audit conflicts, which A&M is uniquely placed to provide, bringing to bear the blended skillset of the Infrastructure Investors team. I look forward to developing the proposition and helping to further grow the team.”
Paul Aversano, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group commented: “It has been a significant year for A&M as we continue to evolve our expansion strategy and sector expertise, both in the U.K. and around the world. Wayne is a key hire in further enhancing our client offering within the infrastructure market; one that is of increasing strategic importance for our business.
“His wealth of experience and specialist knowledge will be instrumental in responding to substantial cross-border client demand. I look forward to working with him.”
David Evans, Managing Director and European Practice Leader of A&M’s Global Transaction Advisory Group commented: “There is an increasing focus on infrastructure assets by both the traditional infrastructure investors and increasingly by our private equity clients and transactions in this asset class require a joined up and integrated cross-border approach. Against this backdrop, A&M’s pan-European and Global platform that combines sector expertise with experienced local teams is increasingly valuable."
