Leading professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) announced the appointment of Jonathan Nus as a Managing Director in its Global Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) in New York. Mr. Nus is the latest U.S.-based hire as part of TAG’s significant talent expansion over the last year. As part of TAG’s Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory group, Mr. Nus will advise clients on complex, technical accounting and reporting matters and capital markets transactions. His appointment demonstrates A&M’s continued commitment to servicing evolving client needs.
In 2019, A&M promoted David Kent in New York, Erik Kessler in Chicago and Vlad Halas in London to Managing Director. The firm hired Senior Directors Michael Surr and Peter Dobbin from EY and Grace Auguste from Deloitte in New York, along with Ryan Orme from KPMG in San Francisco. Kurt Jonske also joined as a Senior Director with the Global Transaction Analytics team in New York.

Over the past year, TAG also welcomed 52 new professional staff in Boston, New York, Atlanta, Miami, Nashville, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

With more than 20 years of experience, Mr. Nus is a recognized and trusted advisor in accounting and financial reporting, combining deep capital markets experience with significant technical accounting, financial analysis and operational knowledge. Mr. Nus has held prominent technical advisory roles with the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s (FASB) Investor Advisory Committee and the Financial Reporting Executive Committee, the senior technical committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for financial reporting and other organizations with a financial reporting focus.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Nus was a Managing Director in EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice, where he co-led the group’s solution related to M&A activity and EY’s Disclosure Effectiveness solution. He also previously served as Senior Director at S&P Global, where he led the global financial services accounting specialist team.
