March 31, 2020, 09:05 AM

Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLP (A&M Taxand), an affiliate of leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), has strengthened its International Tax practice with the appointment of Lewis J. Greenwald as a Managing Director. Mr. Greenwald, who will serve from A&M’s Miami and New York offices, has more than 30 years of experience across a multitude of international tax matters. Mr. Greenwald’s appointment will help meet the market’s growing demand for technical advisory services in cross-border tax compliance in light of increasingly complex regulations and regulatory changes.

Mr. Greenwald will help A&M Taxand clients, including multinationals, with U.S. international tax planning, U.S. international tax compliance and controversy, and transfer pricing matters. His experience spans across many industry sectors, with a focus on technology clients.

“The deep technical expertise and decades of experience that Lew brings to our firm are critically important to our clients,” said Ernesto Perez, Global Practice Leader of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand. “He is essential to strengthening our growing International Tax group. His appointment reflects our continued commitment to helping clients navigate the increasingly complex global tax regulatory landscape and volatile environment.”

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Greenwald was a partner at DLA Piper in New York, Mayer Brown, Sullivan & Worcester and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is licensed to practice law in New York and Massachusetts.

Mr. Greenwald earned a bachelor’s degree from New York University, an MBA from Rutgers University, and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He is the former Regional Vice President of the New England Region of The International Fiscal Association and a member of the board of the National Foreign Trade Council.
