Salus Capital Partners announced the following new hires:

Jonas McCray joins Salus as Senior Vice President, Underwriting, Loan Closing, and Internal Compliance, and is responsible for managing underwriting and due diligence, evaluating investment risk, ensuring sound business structure and managing overall transaction execution. Jonas also serves as the internal compliance officer for Salus. Prior to joining Salus, Jonas was an attorney at Proskauer Rose LLP, focusing primarily on debt finance, credit facilities and related transactions. He has expertise in both the lender and borrower side in connection with bilateral and syndicated credit facilities, second-lien, mezzanine and unitranche structures, intercreditor transactions, M&A financing, letters of credit, venture capital lending, credit facilities secured by a variety of collateral (including real estate, securities and intellectual property assets), and bankruptcy issues (as they relate to credit transactions). Jonas received his B.A. from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Western New England University Law School and is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Connecticut.

Nick Cummings joins Salus as Assistant Vice President, Underwriting, Special Opportunities, and is responsible for evaluating and mitigating risks associated with new and existing loans to Borrowers in the process of a turnaround, restructuring or in bankruptcy, working proactively with Borrowers to identify and manage their needs. Prior to joining Salus, Nick was an Assistant Vice President in the Global Restructuring Group of RBS Citizens, N.A., where he managed a portfolio of distressed assets through analyzing companies’ debt capacity and repayment options and developing strategies to improve the bank’s position to mitigate risk. Nick graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Corporate Finance and Accounting from Bentley University.
