Turnaround Pro Rejoins AlixPartners as Newest Managing Director

May 07, 2020, 09:20 AM

AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, announced that Peter D. Fitzsimmons has rejoined the company as a Managing Director. Peter has more than 30 years’ experience in client-focused leadership roles with companies of all sizes and across a wide range of industries. He has worked as a hands-on advisor, an interim C-level executive, and, most recently, as a private equity investor. Peter will be based in AlixPartners’ New York office.

Peter began his career at AlixPartners in 1995. During the ensuing 18 years he worked frequently with companies and their stakeholders to address complex operating and financial challenges, co-founded the firm’s European business, served as President of the North American business, and sat on AlixPartners’ board of directors. Most recently, Peter has been a senior partner with Tower Three Partners, a private equity firm in the New York area. Peter holds a BA from Harvard University and an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Peter is well known in the US and internationally for his work at AlixPartners as a restructuring practitioner; he has served as an advisor, CEO, CFO, and Chief Restructuring Officer to clients with whom he has collaborated in delivering large and complex transformations. Since 2013 he has worked as a private equity investor with companies in the automotive, telecommunications, and building products arenas.

“We are delighted to welcome Peter back to the firm,” said AlixPartners CEO Simon Freakley. “His depth of knowledge of our firm and our global Turnaround and Restructuring (TRS) practice, blended with his extensive experience in building trusted relationships, will greatly benefit clients during a time of unprecedented global disruption.”
