Grant Thornton announced that it continues to expand the National Bank Advisory & Regulatory Services practice with the hiring of regulatory industry veteran Rona Pocker, based in New York.

“We are committed to helping our clients meet the emerging demands in the banking industry today,” said Nichole Jordan, Grant Thornton’s National Banking and Securities industry leader. “Rona brings to Grant Thornton more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her extensive knowledge and experience, particularly in financial and regulatory risk management and mitigation, will be invaluable assets to our clients and we’re pleased to welcome her to the firm.”

Most recently, Pocker was with Bank of America Corporation, where she served as a senior vice president and led the design of the enterprise risk drivers program.

Previously, Pocker was a managing director at Promontory Financial Group LLC, where she guided executive management and other stakeholders in addressing governance, risk management and compliance matters, including conversions to financial holding company and large bank status. Prior, she led the North America Capital Markets Audit (Global Corporate & Investment Bank) and Credit Risk Review units at Citigroup.

Earlier in her career, Pocker was a senior vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she directed the supervisory strategies and examinations for a portfolio of bank holding companies, banks and foreign banking organizations, including the full plethora of regulatory requirements. She also served as a subject matter expert in capital markets for the Federal Reserve System.
