Ted Gavin, Managing Director of Gavin/Solmonese LLC, announced he will host his own talk show on the leading network for original live internet talk radio, VoiceAmerica. Business/disrupted will air live on VoiceAmerica Business on Mondays beginning January 11, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST and will be available in podcast form as well. In each episode, Gavin and his guests will craft interesting narratives around business-based facts to create compelling stories that entertain and inform. According to Gavin, episodes will be driven by his appreciation for war stories rather than doctrine and accounting, as promised by the show’s tagline: Compelling. Irreverent. Entertaining.
“My vision is the quote often misattributed to Mark Twain, ‘It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble; it’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so,’” said Gavin, who in addition to managing a national boutique corporate recovery and public affairs advisory firm serves as the Chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s board.
“I want to explore those cringey ‘What were they thinking?’ moments in business and shine a light on their commonality across industries and companies of all sizes. Sure, you know about podcasts - but what about the business of the podcast business? Why do we keep falling for Ponzi schemes? How is it possible that recording studios, responsible for the success of legendary musicians, are failing? That sort of thing.”
Gavin has already selected topics for the first 13 episodes of the show, which can be perused on the Episodes tab of the business/disrupted website. Guests he has lined up so far include Former U.S. Senator Al Franken (D-MN), host of The Al Franken Podcast, Gordon P. Firemark, Esq., an entertainment and podcast law expert, and Michael P. Richman, Esq., a bankruptcy attorney at Steinhilber Swanson LLP in Madison, Wisconsin.
Business/Disrupted can be heard live on the VoiceAmerica Business channel and watched live on the business/disrupted Facebook page. Episodes will be available to stream on podcast platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify, typically the next day. Past episodes will also be found on disrupted.business/episodes.
