Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) appointed Paul Fanella a Managing Director in Supply Chain Services within its Corporate Performance Improvement practice. Fanella’s end-to-end supply chain management expertise boosts A&M’s ability to deliver meaningful cost-reduction and productivity-enhancements and builds upon the firm’s commitment to drive savings and efficiency results for clients.
Fanella’s primary focus areas will be enterprise cost reduction, procurement transformation, inventory optimization, change management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) value delivery. During his three-decade management consulting career, Fanella has worked with clients across diverse industries, including consumer products, retail, healthcare, higher education, and industrial products. He has established consulting practices from inception, and led them through recruitment, opportunity generation, solution and team development, and client delivery.
Fanella’s notable achievements include leading a procurement transformation to reduce annual costs by up to $1 billion for a global logistics provider and delivering $250 million to a U.S. hospital system through end-to-end supply chain transformation. He also led enterprise cost reduction for a global products and retail company, and the transformation of a supply chain workforce for one of the world’s largest industrial manufacturers.
“In the past 15 months, the global economy has been shaken, and supply chains have experienced disruptions of an unprecedented scale. Companies, across multiple industries, need strategic thinking as well as tested, proven leadership and guidance for recovery,” said Cyndi Joiner, who leads Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement practice’s East Region. “Paul has designed and implemented transformations that position companies for growth and prosperity in a rapidly evolving global economy. His practical experience strengthens our ability to maximize value for clients and aligns with our leadership, action, results approach.”
Prior to joining A&M, Fanella spent nearly 10 years with EY, where he established and served as a Principal leading the Southeast Supply Chain and the National Health Supply Chain practices. Prior to EY, he spent over 17 years with Accenture, serving as the Supply Chain Partner responsible for building and leading the Supply Chain Workforce practice and the Operations Partner responsible for leading the Supply Chain Strategy practice. He also led the National Latin American diversity recruitment initiative.
