Bridgewater Bank added Joseph Birkholz to its team as Chief Risk Officer. Birkholz joins Bridgewater with over 15 years’ experience in various enterprise risk management capacities. Birkholz most recently served as Senior Vice President of Risk Operations at TCF Bank (nka Huntington Bank), where he led teams across operational risk, vendor risk and risk operations disciplines. In his new position at Bridgewater, Joseph will help the Bank mitigate key risks by leveraging his expertise in creating and formalizing risk frameworks, developing risk and control assessments, credit risk analytics and operational risk management. Joseph holds a B.S. in accounting from The College of St. Scholastica and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
