Wells Fargo's Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB), appointed Nipul Patel to lead Real Estate Banking (REB) within its Commercial Real Estate (CRE) group, effective July 15. In this role, Patel will oversee balance sheet lending for office, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial, and retail properties, including construction financing, acquisition financing, and permanent financing. Based in Houston, Patel will report to Kara McShane, head of CRE.

Patel has been with Wells Fargo for more than 25 years and has held several leadership positions in CRE, including with Real Estate Merchant Banking and the Special Situations Group. Most recently, he served as senior credit officer of the Real Estate Managed Assets Group. Previously, from 2018 to 2020, he served as chief operating officer for CRE. He began his career at Wells Fargo as part of its credit analyst program, where he provided financial analysis across Commercial Banking, Energy Banking, Private Banking, and CRE.

Patel earned his B.B.A degree in finance from Baylor University and currently serves on the board of Houston Habitat for Humanity.
